“IN” and “OUT” for 2024

The trend kicking off the New Year on social media

If you have social media, you might have noticed a bunch of people you follow posting “In and Out” lists.

The concept is simple. The “In” is what you want more of in the New Year. The “Out” is what you want to stop doing.

Inspired by this trend, I came up with an “in” and “out” list to share with all of you. I hope the following ideas help inform your “ins and outs” for 2024.

In

  • Family time
  • Mindful movement
  • Positive self-talk
  • Reading for fun
  • Setting healthy boundaries
  • Carving out time for hobbies and passions
  • Breaks, PTO and mental health and sick days
  • Volunteering
  • Conscious consumption
  • Forgiveness
  • Acceptance
  • Being intentional with time and energy

Out

  • Mindless scrolling
  • Suppressing emotions
  • Feeling guilty about rest and prioritizing self
  • Bragging about being busy
  • Rushing
