I feel like this is common in a lot of cultures. I grew up with this sense of responsibility too. Not just Tupperware either, a plate of food or cookies was supposed to be returned with food or cookies too. Or if someone brought you something when you moved in or were ill, you’re supposed to return the favour if they’re in the same scenario, etc.

I find we cook and bake less at home now though, and are more reliant on meal kits and store-bought baked goods. It’s important to write about such concepts, a good reminder of culture and kindness. Thanks for sharing.
