3 Books You Can Realistically Read in One Day

My favourite books to read when I want to finish a book quickly

Is there a Danish word for the feeling you get when you finish a book? A “book hangover” sounds too college student and a “literary afterglow” too pretentious. I’m sure the Germans, Japanese, or Norwegians have come up with something better. There has to be a more suitable descriptor, but until I find one, I’m sharing my go-to books for when I want to escape into a bookish world for the day.

I finished all of these books in a few hours and have linked to specific editions because I know different formats (especially for older novels) have varying lengths. One would think they’d all have the same amount of words, though. I’ve also included two alternative reads, in case you’ve already read my recommendation, which means there are nine books in this article.

With the end of the year fast approaching, these books are good additions to your reading list if you have a goal you’re trying to reach.
